Jim Beck

Jim is a seasoned bank executive and entrepreneur that founded and led three successful commercial banking companies during a career spanning four decades. As Chief Executive Officer, he built high performing businesses through strong organic growth and strategic acquisitions. Jim began his banking career at BB&T where he progressed quickly into senior leadership roles. He later joined SouthTrust Bank, where he led the first successful entry of an out-of-state bank holding company into North Carolina. Jim then grew Capital Bank Corporation from a startup to a $900 million bank with 21 offices in just six years. Most recently, he founded TrustAtlantic Financial Corporation in 2007, growing it to a profitable $450 million bank during the Great Recession. He sold the company to First Horizon National Corporation in 2015 and has since been providing strategic advisory and execution services to business clients.

In addition to serving on the boards of several non-profit organizations, Jim currently serves on the board of directors of CivaTech Oncology, a medical device company. Jim holds a B.S. in Zoology from North Carolina State University.
